The loss of a pet can be emotionally devastating. Sadly, the impact of the heartbreak of this type of loss is often downplayed or ignored by friends and family. This 6-meeting program is focused on offering pet owners an effective mechanism for taking action to move through and beyond their grief.

About The Format

This program is taught in 6 sessions, either once a week for 6 weeks or twice a week for 3 weeks. There are 2-3 days in between sessions if offered twice a week. Each session is approximately 2 hours long. There is reading and assignments in between sessions. GRM Support Groups are not drop in style groups. All GRM programs are confidential, structured and action oriented.

Hi, I’m so glad you’re here. Let me tell you a bit about myself and my journey with grief.

I have been a hairdresser for almost 20 years, and I also worked in an independent living retirement home as a recreation assistant. I left that position to focus more on bringing grief support to individuals and retirement communities.

In June of 2011, my father was diagnosed with cancer. It was a very rare form of lung cancer that could not be treated with chemo or radiation. He declined very quickly and passed away in November of that year. It was the most devastating thing that has ever happened to me and I had no idea how to handle it. My maternal grandmother also...
