Helping Children With Loss
Saturday, Feb. 08, 2020
Registration Closed
The vast majority of parents find themselves at a loss when trying to help their children deal with any grieving experience that impacts them. This 4-week program is designed to teach parents, and others who work with children, the necessary tools to help children effectively deal with their broken hearts, no matter the loss they are facing.
About The Format
This program is taught in four 2.5 hour long sessions offered once a week. There is reading and assignments in between sessions. HCWL Groups are not drop in style groups. All GRM programs are structured and action oriented.
A Note From The Presenter:
We all experience loss. It begins at an early age. There are over 40 different types of losses we can experience. A child could be dealing with the death of a grandparent, the death of a pet, a divorce, a move, or a major medical event involving someone the child cares about.
Children learn how to deal with loss from observing the adults in their lives and how they handle it. So how are you doing with it?
Perhaps you have heard that you just need to "let go and move on", but no one told you how.
WHAT TO EXPECT:
1. We will meet for 4 weeks, 2 hours/week beginning Saturday February 8th through February 29th from 9am to 11am
2. You will have homework. Don't worry! It's doable and important.
3. This is a closed class. It is not a drop-in support group.
4. The size of our group is limited to 16 people.
5. You must be over the age of 18 years old
6. We provide a safe environment and will share specific tools to help you help the child/children you care about.
Time does not heal. It's what you do with that time that makes the difference.
