Hello, my name is Debbie, and I am a Certified Grief Recovery Specialist® based in South Wales, UK. My life has been a journey through various experiences of loss, from coping with an absent, abusive, alcoholic father and an emotionally unavailable mother to losing my brother to suicide and enduring a lifetime of navigating significant losses. These experiences, coupled with my struggles of parentification, losing my childhood too soon, and years of prescription medication, left me feeling lost and disconnected from myself. Despite various therapies and efforts, nothing seemed to address the depth of my grief.

In my quest for answers, I discovered the profound impact of unaddressed grief. Once I accepted and understood my grief, I embarked on a journey to walk alongside it, befriending it and transforming it into my new purpose. Having completed the Grief Recovery Method® programme myself, I have firsthand knowledge of how it can heal and touch the hearts of grievers. Grief is pure emotion and must be heart-led, not intellectualized.

My purpose is to share my learnings and be the change I wish to see in our often tumultuous world. Completing the Grief Recovery Specialist training was the best decision I ever made for myself and my family. It's an honour to be part of the Grief Recovery Institute and offer this life-changing programme. The positive effects it has had on my life and happiness are profound, and I am committed to helping as many grieving individuals as possible on their healing journey towards recovery.
