Hello I'm Andrew YoungI am a Certified Advanced Grief Recovery Method Specialist for the Grief Recovery Institute. Our office is located in Aberdeen, Maryland. The headquarters of the institute is located in Bend, Oregon. One of my greatest losses I experienced was the death of my wife of twenty years. It was a life changing event for me and my two daughters. To follow was a divorce that followed years after the death of my first wife. The only way I can explain it is devasting and tail spinning to say the least. As I was still recovering, many years later it was the death of my sister and the death of mother. Applying The Grief Recovery Method to my own personal losses helped me find my way through grief recovery.After significant training by the Grief Recovery Institute, I now offer Grief Support Groups, Grief Support 1-on-1, Grief Support 1-on-1 via Zoom,  helping Children with Loss, and Pet loss Support Groups. Grief is a normal and natural emotional response to loss, but most of the information we've learned about dealing with loss is intellectual. Although the Grief Support Programs involve some educational elements, effective Grief Recovery must deal with your broken heart, which requires  emotional support instead of just intellectual explanations.The Grief Recovery Method is a proven action based program for moving beyond the pain of these losses. Grief recovery helps one to identify the problem and offers a solution. As a Chaplain and Bereavement Coordinator for hospice and in a hospital setting, I have provided support for patients and their families for more than 15 years. My guidance has helped many through the dying process while in hospice care. My services have included in-depth processing of grief sessions with caregivers and their loved ones. My goal is to reach as many grievers as possible with compassion and support.
