Deanna Sheffey, M.S. LMFT

Hi! I am Deanna Sheffey, and I am a Grief Recovery Specialist at the Athens Grief & Wellness Center in Athens, TN. I have a masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, I am so excited about The Grief Recovery Method! I was introduced to this method in 2018 when it was suggested that I do grief work of my own. I had no idea how meaningful the experience would be for me. I had learned to live with my grief caused by loss and trauma, or so I thought, but this work allowed me to do more than live with it - it showed me how to complete it and let it go. I was so impressed with the program that I became  trained in the Grief Recovery Method. This process has helped me to become a better Therapist, and I utilize it with many of my clients. It has been a wonderful tool to add to my therapy toolbox. In addition to Marriage and Family Therapy, I facilitate the Grief Recovery Method Support Group, Pet Loss Support Group, Grief Support 1-1, and Helping Children with Loss.
