About Gabby

Aloha! I'm Gabby Gouveia, born, raised and living in Honolulu, Hawaii with my husband and 3 children (2 earth side 1 in heaven). Shortly after our eldest son, Grayson turned 5, he was diagnosed with an aggressive brain cancer called Glioblastoma and fought an unfair battle. Grayson transitioned on January 22, 2016 after leading us through the most painful, heartbreaking and miracle filled journey. Grayson has been my greatest teacher and continues to encourage me to work towards the truest version of myself. In 2017, we founded Let Grace In (LGI), a 501c3 tax exempt charity that supports families after the death of a child. Our mission is to restore hope by building community and fostering physical, emotional, mental and spiritual well-being. LGI programing includes monthly therapeutic events, the Hope Retreat and The Grief Recovery Method. In March 2022, we published a children's book about a grieving sibling called "My Journey with The Wind" that includes activity pages for any age to engage, discuss, journal and process the grief. To learn more about Let Grace In go to letgracein.org The GRM has help me feel, explore, and release big pain in my relationship with Grayson, a parent, and other close relationships. It helped me to see more clearly that I had not been given effective tools to do the inner emotional work in my life and how storing up the pain was keeping me from truly living. The Grief Recovery Method has enhanced Let Grace In services for bereaved parents and adult siblings as well as others in my community grieving divorce and other losses. I believe that every human can benefit from completing the communication of undelivered emotional pain. I currently offer 1:1 zoom sessions for all grievers and I have found it to be a safe, intimate place for the deepest work. Please reach out to me if you would like to connect over zoom for a consultation! I concurrently work for Hawaii Pacific Health as a Registered Nurse on the Resource team at Straub Medical Center. I've been a nurse for 23years, with 15 of those years working in the Intensive Care Unit. Bedside ICU nursing was the beginning of my experience assisting patients and their families through the death and dying process. In 2019, I participated in an Evidenced Based research course at HPH evaluating current research to implement evidenced based intervention during the death and dying process at our adult hospital. I have been active in our community as a speaker, workshop leader, and in 2022 graduated with my 200-hour YOGA teacher certification with Yoga Alliance through Core Power Yoga of Honolulu & teach yoga at the Ward location. I have also done the grief moment training with Paul Dennison, founder of grief yoga & it is such an effective way to embody, process & release grief. I'm excited to meet you and to connect in person. Always Remembering Grayson, Gabby

My Experience

Doing the GRM in all the ways it was written and intended to be done helped me sort through the pain of losing my baby and be able to remember the good feelings. Now when I think of him it’s not something I want to push away, but something I can smile about. So much “myth-busting” about grief and helpful information that I haven’t come across elsewhere. Truly feel like a changed person and very fortunate to have done this work.

My Experience

This program has helped me to forgive and heal from divorce. It showed me new ways to deal with and accept what I went through in a healthy way.
