About Heather

Hello y'all! I teach both the Grief Recovery Method and Helping Children with Loss online. If my listed classes don't work with your schedule, please contact me. I offer flexible scheduling and individual classes. I have a special place in my heart for military families and families facing long term illness and/or disability. It is hard to process all the changes with loss. I am inviting you to come learn about how to process the pain from loss and change of any kind. The Grief Recovery Method is a simple action based process. Helping Children with Loss adds some extra tools on how to communicate with a child that is experiencing grief. Let’s work together to heal your heart.

My Experience

Heather was well organized and was a good mentor for me as I engaged in the 4 week HCWL program. I was able to do an emotional energy check list with a past situation with my son that at times feel like I am still processing.

My Experience

Heather was disciplined in sticking with the curriculum while remaining open to questions and clarification yet not rabbit-holing off topic.

My Experience

Heather knows the program well and committed to the principles of total honesty, sharing her experience as appropriate when introducing new topics and exercises. It was comfortable (even while uncomfortable) to share in the group and I felt safe. She demonstrated one skill particularly well: asking questions to allow a griever to get out what they need to without leading them or judging or analyzing.

My Experience

I appreciated how committed Heather was to my growth and understanding. She was patient when I wanted to rush through the initial steps and get right to work. She helped me understand that the steps come in order for a reason and that I would soon have all of the keys to recovery. She was so encouraging and supportive as I put my heart into my homework. It was a pleasure to have her as my guide!
