About Joy
Therapeutic Philosophy
I help clients navigate grief, life transitions, and the emotional weight of caring deeply for others. My approach blends person-centered care with cognitive behavioral tools and a whole-person perspective that recognizes the connection between mental, physical, relational, and spiritual well-being. For clients who desire it, I welcome conversations about faith and personal values as part of the therapeutic process.
Many of my clients are used to being the one others rely on and are now learning how to invest in their own growth, boundaries, and well-being.
Qualifications and Experience
I hold a Master’s degree in Counseling from Wayland Baptist University (2015). My background includes hospice work, volunteering in hospice care, supporting women transitioning out of homelessness or incarceration, and experience in a funeral home setting. As a military veteran and former EMT, I bring a steady, compassionate presence to the therapy room.
