My Facilitator, Nancy, was one of the key reasons that I was able to push myself to complete this program. I had observed how she had been such an asset and important person in my son's life when his young wife died unexpectedly. I observed his handling of the grief in a way that I had not seen in anyone else's life. He introduced me to Nancy and greatly encouraged me to deal with the grief in my life by counseling with her. He even purchased the book for me. Right from the first time Nancy and I met, I could feel her genuine compassion and heart for helping others find freedom and healing, including myself. Throughout the entire time we worked the program, she was available for guidance and support. She was very good at explaining the concepts and steps of this recovery program which, for me, were a completely new way of viewing grief and recovery from loss. I have learned more from this program than I can put into words. I do not think I would have found the fortitude to see my recovery through to completion had she not been on this journey with me.

I recently had the privilege of working with Nancy Hull through the Grief Recovery Method program, and it was truly a transformative experience. Nancy was vital in guiding me through every step of the process with compassion and expertise. She created a safe space that allowed me to go deeper and address my grief in a meaningful and healing way. Her empathy, insight, and genuine support made all the difference. I am deeply grateful for her dedication and highly recommend her to anyone seeking to navigate their grief journey.

Nancy was compassionate, caring, empathetic and had genuine concern for my feelings. I felt as though I could share my feelings with her because of her caring, kind, compassionate nature. I feel extremely blessed and fortunate to have had Nancy there with me thru processing my losses.

This program has allowed me to look deeper inside my understanding of grief, so that I can respond to it in a healthy way. It has allowed me to reflect on my relationship with the one I lost. My 19 year old brother was killed by a drunk driver, something that could have been prevented, something that shouldn't happen. So all of my feelings about it where able to be laid out on a table and be discussed and I could begin for the first time, reflecting on everything.

This program showed me how I have avoided working through grief. It helped me identify that grief is more than death, divorce, or any of the common identifiers of grief. Before this program, it had never occurred to me that loss of relationships, hopes, dreams, etc., all related to grief recovery and that my entire life I have been using STERBS to avoid processing grief. I didn't have a name for it. But now I do. And now I know how to process it.

I feel this program has been essential in helping with my healing following catastrophic circumstances that have been extremely difficult to experience. It helped explain what grief is and what it is not, how individual the grief process is, and has provided excellent practical activities/assignments to process through and clear my grief/loss. I am extremely thankful for the program and so grateful for my facilitator! I have been recommending this program to friends and acquaintances- I think everyone should go through the program!! I already feel much more freedom and joy after completing the program this morning! Thank you!!

The program worked in unlearning some myths I had previously believed regarding loss and grief. As someone who spent many years without a significant loss, the program helped me figure out intense new emotions.

The program worked well for me and I learned a lot of how we did not talk or learn how to deal with losses growing up. It really opened up my eyes and will help me deal with future losses.

This program helped me learn more about grief and how to cope with myself and others who are grieving. It prepared me for the public and others’ responses to me as I am grieving. Nancy Hull was amazing in being my grief counselor.

In the beginning of the program is was unsure/calming, in the middle-comforting/surreal/frustrating/sad, at the end--comforting/complete.

I’ve been able to process an incomplete relationship with someone in A way I haven't before. I had a relapse in it and was reminded I can go back to my letter to her and add a “p.s.”. It’s been helpful. Going to do it again on another relationship.

The program worked for me because I better understand the definition of forgiveness. I've read about forgiveness many times, however, this method brought it home for me. I also understand the benefit of writing the completion letter. I was feeling a lot of unexpressed emotional pain regarding a relationship breakup before doing the recovery work. My former partner did not want to hear about my feelings. Doing this grief work gave my pain a voice and I was able to release those feelings. I've learned a lot and my heart does feel "lighter" since completing the Grief Recovery Method.

This program was outstanding! The homework assignments were extremely important in order to get the full benefit of the program. There was no limitation on topics discussed and I never felt like I was running out of time. Before starting the program I was a lost soul searching for a way to live my life after losing my son but after finishing the sessions I looked at life with a different perspective and now feel more complete. I would highly recommend this program to anyone needing help with life challenges.

I began the program because of the hurt I was going through with my husband's mental illness and other family losses due to the situation. Reading the grief recovery book and taking the process step by step, knowing my counselor was LISTENING WITHOUT JUDGEMENT, allowed me to be 100% honest about how I felt, because my feelings and losses are UNIQUE. I ended up working in the grief of my dad who died at age 50 yr because at age 24 yr I was expected to be there for my family, be strong, don't cry, do what needed to be done, I became an "academy award winning" griever which led to me in the years to come to see myself as the victim in all my relationships. This process gave me the ability to be vulnerable and accept my past and my present. I now am trying to live happily for myself and not because I need the approval of others. I still have many losses to deal with and knowing the appropriate steps to take will make the grief process a bit more inviting.

The Program facilitated a life review of loss and helped in my processing of these losses. It helped me recover from grief related to the loss of my husband as well as older losses in the past that were important then, and that I was able to process and relate to my well-being today.

I am a retired social worker having worked in mental health administration during a long career. I know from experience that not all helping professionals (or clergy/spiritual advisors) are knowledgeable and experienced with and about grief and the grief process. I was somewhat skeptical of this program, but my intuition lead me to enroll and I am glad I did. I could easily think of a few "tweaks" I'd suggest in the program, but overall I think it is an excellent resource and approach to helping people process grief and loss. I also highly recommend Nancy Hull as a knowledgeable, skillful and empathetic facilitator.

I was in a place of deep turmoil emotionally when I came into the program. Nancy was able to guide me through the method and completion of one loss, which had the effect of helping me see other things in my life much more clearly. I feel equipped to better protect myself and be strong and make better choices for myself as a result. There's a greater peace in my life now.

This program helped me discover that grief is really heartbreak in disguise. Taking responsibility for my own participation in relations, rather than consistently blaming the other party, is a huge step in grief recovery. Finally, healing my broken heart with forgiveness, grace, and compassion is the pathway to healing. The completion letter I wrote was and still is a catalyst to my healing, as it functioned as a liberator. I love this course!

My husband passed away in Sept 2017. I am still pretty raw!! I knew I needed some help. A friend recommended Nancy Hull to me. After speaking with her I knew this is what I needed. This program helped me learn how to handle and process my grief. Learned how to deal with everyday issues while going through grief. I learned a lot about myself and feel more at peace than I have in a long time. There were some tough days but Nancy helped me get through them!! I would highly recommend this program to anyone who is dealing not just with a loss by death but anything that they are grieving. Absolutely amazing!!

The program helped me to focus on issues I thought had long ago been solved. I did not realize that I was seeking approval from my directors at work the same way in which I sought approval from my mother, always resulting in feelings of failure and insecurity. I had no idea I had transferred these feelings and projected them onto these women who reminded me of aspects of my mother. It has kept me trapped and wondering if I should find other work. I stopped looking for a way out when I realized I had been working for the same woman for 12 years and I have only been at my current job for two years! Repeating these patterns has caused me stress, health problems, and a lack of peace. Going through the process of identifying and forgiving my own mother has shown me that these other women are not my mother and I have no business giving them so much power over me. I am not a wounded child forever. I am a woman on a path toward healing.
