I have worked for over 10 years with incarcerated women who suffer from addiction through the “Life after Meth” program. Many of these women suffer from unresolved grief and none of our curriculum seemed sufficient. I was introduced to the Grief Recovery Handbook by our program director. After reading and rereading this book I was so excited to find out that I could become a Certified Grief Recovery Specialist that I could bring this method to the women I work with daily. This program changed the way I look at grief in my own life and in the lives of others. It taught me that there are many different kinds of grief and that each person grieves in there own way. It taught me that grief is a normal and natural response to a loss of any kind. I am very grateful for the tools that GRM has given me to deal with loss in my own life as well as the training to help others through their grief.
