As a Death Doula, I came to the Grief Recovery Method® as a means to support my clients better, but I had no idea just what an impact it would make to my own life;

The pain from dealing with a decade of infertility, pregnancy loss and adoption failure, at the hands of a very broken system was what I thought I needed to work on. I had read the books, done the meditations, attended counseling and therapy, even life coaching. I had tried literally everything. My life, which, even though it had been a happy one, was still shrouded in sorrow. I discovered was that over many years, my pain and sorrow had slowly and quietly turned to bitterness, and I had let it infect every part of my life.

Its no wonder then, that through that bitter lens, I was skeptical about this so-called recovery method. Hadn't I read all the grief stuff? Hadn't I tried all the things? How could this one possibly be any different?

I attended the class, I did the work, I was honest with myself and my classmates. I was vulnerable. It was hard! But, I can quite honestly say that after the best nights sleep I had had in years, I felt relief. Relief from carrying 30 years of pain following the loss of our Mum, Sally, at a young age. It was an incredible and liberating feeling and completely alien to me... and that was just the beginning of my journey to recovery.

It's a truly powerful and transformational program.
