Hello everybody, I want to welcome you to the Feel Free again podcast. I am your host, Cole James and you're going to want to watch or listen to this episode. I have a dear, dear friend of mine. Another pioneer of grief recovery, someone that I admire, look up to and call a good friend of mine.

Today we are joined by Arturo Albin and I have known Arturo for 15, probably about 15 years now. An interesting part of my story with Arturo is that when I first was, well let's start from the beginning, right? My dad, for many of you, I think you know my dad is John James, the founder of the grief recovery institute, the grief recovery method, in addition to Russell Freeman who helped him kind of co-develop it. And I always rooted for those guys, but I was an adult, a young adult doing my own thing in a completely different line of work.

And I had some losses that affected me deeply. I had a friend that died in a drunk driving accident. I had a cousin who took his life through suicide and some other heartbreak in my life. And one day I kind of through, I think just kind of divine intervention.

My dad reached out to Ashley at the time, my girlfriend, now my current wife. And he knew that she was going through some stuff and ended up inviting her to one of his weekends that he was doing. He was doing a weekend workshop on the grief recovery method and said, hey, do you think Ashley would want to go do some work? You know, with me there in Palm Springs.

And I said, you know, let me ask her and I asked her and she, she was willing and wanted to go. So she signed up. And intuitively after I hung up the phone with my dad, I, I intuitively, this voice came in and said, you should go to that, that training too. And I called my dad back and I said, dad, would it be weird if I was in your training?

And he like, no, when you're doing your personal work, I'll just separate you with somebody and I won't come by so you can feel free and safe to do any work you want, but you, you can come too. So I committed to doing that. And that, that weekend changed my life forever, right? That was the weekend that I saw how beneficial grief recovery was to my heart.
