About Ada

My lived experiences fueled my passion towards this field of work. Through my experiences, I developed a deeper appreciation for people's experiences of grief and loss. The Grief Recovery Method had such a profound impact on my ability to move beyond the pain and isolation caused by my loss, resolve feelings of guilt and make peace with the devastating loss of my parents enabling me to attain emotional completion. The Grief Recovery Method was transformational in my healing and not only helped me work through my losses but I gained the necessary tools to help others recover from loss too. I greatly appreciate being able to share in individuals’ stories and in their healing journeys. It has been such a privilege to journey alongside individuals helping them muster the courage to push through life's adversities and to identify and unravel new possibilities. It is quite inspiring to witness the courage and resilience that individuals possess in the face of adversity and their innate capacity to recover.

My Experience

I really wasn’t sure what to expect prior to starting this program but it ended up being so helpful. My family is probably annoyed with me for constantly pointing out things I have learned about grief and how our society “trains” us to deal (or not deal) with it but I have to share what I have learned whenever I have the chance. This program has greatly helped me in my grief journey and I know I will continue to refer to what I have learned and the book over and over in the future. It has taught me that grief is not linear and it’s not the same for everyone and to give yourself grace when you’re struggling.
