About Christina
Hello, my name is Christina Shaw. I have been an educator for 20 years, a professional school counselor for 11 years, and a Professional Licensed Counselor for 3 years. Although I was the main helping professional on my campus, I was having a difficult time processing my father's death, which had happened a year before I decided to delve into GRM specialist training. I was drawn to the Grief Recovery Method after the loss of my father and the upcoming transition of becoming an empty nester. Both experiences left me feeling overwhelmed—my father’s passing created a deep ache, while the thought of my children leaving brought a mix of sadness and uncertainty about the next chapter of my life. I realized I needed more than just time to heal; I needed a way to process my grief and move forward with compassion actively. The Grief Recovery Method offered a practical, step-by-step approach that helped me honor my emotions and find healing. It gave me the tools to navigate these losses, providing both comfort and empowerment as I worked through my pain and embraced the future.
I am located in SE Houston (Clear Lake Area), Texas. I am eager to partner with you in a one-on-one Grief Recovery Method or Small Group. Currently, I am meeting with my GRM clients virtually with hopes of expanding in person. Also, I am passionate about serving our youth and working alongside adults to Help Children with Loss. Additionally, as a dog and cat mama, I would be honored to work with individuals with those grieving their fur babies with the Pet Loss program.

My Experience
My program facilitator was warm, empathetic, accommodating, and kind. I appreciate the safe space she provided. It's difficult to run a virtual support group - there are always some kinks to work out at first (with technology, emails, conversation flow, etc.) and I have no doubt this facilitator will master the virtual support group space to create an experience that's "outstanding."
