My name is Elva Hernandez Gable and I am a Certified Grief Recovery Method Specialist. I completed the Grief Recovery Method when I was going through a difficult divorce. I was married 33 years and suddenly I found myself in pain and wondering how I was going to move forward in my personal and professional life as a speech therapist. Completing the Grief Recovery Method gave me the tools that I needed to move forward in my life. In 2009 my youngest son was tragically killed in Afghanistan. As a Gold Star Mother I had to navigate not only my loss but how if affected my family. The GRM did not soften or dampen the pain but the tools again gave me the direction and fortitude which led to hope. My mother died two months later and within the year my father died. One year after his death I lost my teaching position. Each difficult event fortified my resolve in the Grief Recovery Method. The program transformed my life and I knew immediately that I wanted to share its gifts. I am the founder of Grief Recovery Method: Healing Immeasurable Loss LLC. My mission is to create a safe, non-judgmental environment where clients can learn the step-by-step process—an action-based program for unlocking and respecting the emotional experience of our grief-in both the immediate or past grief issues that may have been holding us captive for years. Grief isn’t for the faint-hearted or unwilling but the Grief Recovery Method is a powerful evidence-based educational plan of action that recognizes the weight of losses and offers strategies to work through the losses. The program offers training skills that build resiliency and teaches participants to invest in their own lives to complete their losses.
