During the program I learned that I was holding many guilts and regrets deeply in my heart. This caused me to close off and Try to protect myself. On top of this I was now grieving the loss of my Son. The program helped me open up and acknowledge, to apoligize and forgive. I can now continue my grieving process with less pain and more openness. Thank You Judy.

I couldn’t have asked for a better facilitator. Judy was very knowledgeable and compassionate and helped me to open up and be honest about personal struggles in my life. She encouraged us and challenged us at the same time. Judy was prompt and professional in answering questions we had in between classes.

I rated outstanding because after completing the program I feel finally a sense of relief following my brother’s death. It helped me to put into words my feelings and understand what really happened. Then I was truly able to forgive him and let it go because we were not speaking when he suddenly died.

I feel 'lighter' since finishing the program. I plan to go back to do another grief line on my chart and will work with Judy G again for this. I think everyone should do this program - Because of the work of the program I have changed the way I look at some things that have been part of my life for 50-60 years - no longer blaming a victim of circumstance for the circumstance. It took this program to see that, and to shed grief attached.

The relationship timeline was the best for me. Really helped me let my divorce go.

I lost my 24-year-old sister to alcoholism back in February 2021, and have struggled to cope with the finality of her death. My mother started working with a Grief Recovery facilitator and encouraged me to do the same, and I'm so glad that I did. The coursework made me take a much deeper look at my relationship with my sister, which helped me realize the things I had been holding onto - guilt, things left unsaid, things I wish I had done or not done. I expected the work to be mostly one-on-one talk therapy sessions about the pain of losing a loved one, but it was so much more than that. I am so grateful that I made the decision to use the Grief Recovery Method in coping with the loss of my sister.

Our facilitator Judi had the experience and compassion to help me through one of the toughest tones in my life, the loss of my sister. She's not a therapist in these sessions where there is one way communication with someone who hasn't been through grief and the program. She's lived in and wants to share how it has helped her, which helped me to identify and feel comfortable. I highly recommend this program and if you're lucky enough to have Judi your healing process will begin.

My 24 year old daughter died 3 months ago unexpectedly. A childhood friend recommended Judy. I wasn’t interested in group therapy or traditional therapy. Judy was beyond excellent in navigating me through my journey of grief. Her wisdom, empathy, love, and humor made this extraordinary loss more manageable. I’ll forever be grateful for her help during the most difficult experience of my life.

I feel like I left the program learning a great deal about grief and loss in the context of our society and my own personal grief and loss. I have a different perspective about the way other people have reacted to my grief, as well as some of the ways I have judged myself and coped in not so healthy ways. I enjoyed reading the chapters along with meeting once a week with Judy to talk about how they relate to my grief in my life. Diving deeper into the losses I have experienced in my life really opened my eyes to how much loss I have experienced. I feel like I learned so much about myself and have a clear understanding of all the struggles I have gone through. In addition to all of these things, I think the biggest take away from this program was reviewing my relationship's with my two parents who passed when I was a teenager and the completion work I did with them. Laying out our relationship graphs painted a really clear picture of where all my pain and sadness was stemming from. Being able to express all of the unresolved feelings, apologies, forgiveness, and emotional statements that never got to be said felt like the closure I never had. I don't think I ever truly worked through my grief after these two losses and I think this is going to impact my life in so many ways. I am extremely grateful for Judy and this program. Going into the therapy field, myself, I am even considering training to become a GRM therapist at some point. Thank you!!!
