First and foremost, I want to commend you for taking the courageous step of seeking help in your grieving process. You've come to the right place. The Grief Recovery Method has been an immense support for me during my times of need, first in 2020 and again in 2023 when I became certified as a specialist. My journey has been marked by significant loss from a very young age. The events that led me to the Grief Recovery Method include the heartbreaking loss of my brother to an overdose in December 2019 and, just three months later, my mother's diagnosis with Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer, and her passing in 2021. While my story ultimately has a beautiful resolution, it doesn't mean I don't still grieve my losses; rather, I am no longer trapped by them.
