About Vary

My name is Vary Fischer, and I am an RN. In my work with patients/clients, I often felt that their journey led them to unresolved grief. Research on this topic took me to GRI. The more I studied, the more I felt that GRM was indeed the answer I sought. Engaging in the Foundational Certification Training and the Online Capabilities Training, I discovered relationships within myself that had not been brought to completion, and was able to do my own work with this process…reinforcing my sense that GRM would be a wonderful addition to offerings for clients. And indeed, this has proven to be an excellent experience for clients. I provide in-person-services in the Cumberland County region of Maine; as well as online-services to all areas. My offerings all have the option of doing them in person or doing them online. They include: • One-on-one support • Grief support group • Helping Children with Loss • Pet Loss support As an RN and IFS Practitioner, I have many years of experience helping patients work with loss. The honor of being a Certified Grief Recovery Method Specialist has allowed me to further help those who seek to bring their grief to completion.

My Experience

Vary Fischer was first and foremost very knowledgeable concerning the program. In working with something as complicated as personal grief, there are so many facets that need further clarification. One or two disconnected threads can cause a total misunderstanding or even a slight miss that can easily have serious repercussions. This requires the facilitator to have an in-depth knowledge of the material. It also requires an almost tedious attention to detail, nothing slips through the cracks. The facilitator must also have compassion, a sense of sorrow for the suffering of others. I never felt I was facing the pain alone. The facilitator must exhibit patience. Grief unravels in bits and pieces, sometimes with great difficulty. I am sure there were times when the answer was obvious, right in front of me. Vary was always patient with me, letting me find my way. Sometimes I needed a gentle nudge in the right direction. More often than not she would pose a simple question. Her question would prompt me to consider a different perspective. From that perspective, the world would take on a whole new meaning, allowing me to consider other possibilities. It is a process of discovering your answers by learning to look at things from different viewpoints. Further, Vary Fischer is a devout Christian. I can always feel the presence of God when I am working with her. It is a reminder of the original 12 apostles. They were there to facilitate the connection to God. In the end only God can heal us. By being a devoted disciple of Christ, Vary Fischer facilitates healing using the Grief Recovery Method.
