About Kristi

Hi! I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in Washington state and a Registered Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC) in California. As someone whose work is all about helping others through life's difficult challenges, I felt the importance to gain more tools for working with loss. Becoming a specialist at the Grief Recovery Institute has been a special journey, one that has involved my own healing process from the loss of my dad. Learning the Grief Recovery Method allowed me to work through the unresolved parts that were still causing me pain so I could enjoy an ongoing emotional relationship to my dad, without the negative feelings. In considering loss, it is also important to recognize that grief comes in all forms, it may be a death of a loved one, a divorce, a job loss, or maybe a move, and these changes can throw us into a state of disequilibrium and often feel overwhelming. Sometimes we even become stuck, unable to move forward in positive ways. I hope to hear from you so we can begin your healing journey together.

My Experience

I won't really be able to assess how well the program worked for me until some time has passed, and perhaps after I've used the method to complete other losses in my life.

My Experience

My therapist walked with me through the Grief Recovery Method and it was by her suggestion that I consider completing the 7-day program. We met once a week to discuss my homework and how I was processing the steps. I loved how it was broken into meaningful chunks, as attempting to process alone had been otherwise overwhelming for me. Now I know how to do it myself and can go back and process other painful losses. It was a powerful experience being able to tell someone what needed to be said, without judgement. I highly recommend you do this with a partner because I made quite a few omissions and errors in my homework and it's important to do the work correctly. I am grateful for the process!
