About Philip

Greetings Folks, my name is Philip Greenwood and i am a facilitator and founder of Sacred Earth Community Benefit Society, living and working in Sussex, England. I teach deep nature connection, and community focused culture repair and regenerative culture, alongside specialist work in youth and young adult initiation and rites of passage. I also am a course carrier and facilitator at the International School of Storytelling supporting adults with transformative storytelling workshops. I came to the GRM Institute after a loss that i experienced a few years ago that i found debilitating and triggered my Post Traumatic Stress that i had experienced as a child and during my service years as a Royal Marine Commando. After taking some time to process my feelings of grief and loss, I also trained then as a specialist as felt that i had life experience that would enable others to find the support and ability to recover too. This has led me on a new path of discovery as a GRM specilaist and continues to amaze me the benefits and bravery that people experience while going through the process and the felt after effects of transmuting loss into recovery, freeing up old ways of being, stories, patterns, blocks and stuckness and turning it into renewed and creative lifeforce. For that i am truly grateful.

My Experience

My facilitator treated us all with kindness, compassion and respect, ensuring everything was understood by all of the participants and making sure he 'held' the emotions of the group. The book was well explained and the homework was challenging in places but definitely worthwhile. He offered one-on-one support outside the group for any of the candidates that were struggling. Excellent work, Phil!

My Experience

The programme homework raised lots of questions about myself and I am still exploring the relevance in my day to day life. Without having any particular grief issues at the start I spent the early sessions questioning myself about what I was missing and what needed attention and I struggled. I eventually chose my daughter as a working example with whom my relationship is fragile. Having completed my daughters recovery letter I am not sure I feel sufficiently motivated to attempt another person at the moment.
