Hello everyone, welcome back to the Feel Free again podcast. My name is Cole James and I will be your host for the next hour or so and I'm very excited today to have a wonderful guest and also someone who is certified in the grief recovery method who helps people on a regular basis with their grief. Today I am joined by Kelly Schumacher and we are going to hear about her very powerful story both personally and ways that she used this method to help heal her heart of some pain and some events that have happened in her life. And then again because we get to work with the coolest people, she is also courageous and passionate about helping other people to make sure that she is a guiding light out there in the world to make sure that people have access to this method and this program.

And so without any further ado, Kelly, welcome to the program and I'm glad you're on with us today. Thank you so much. I'm so honored to be here. Thank you.

Cool. Usually where we start with these podcasts is just kind of because it's so fascinating and so varied. How did you first kind of find this method? How do you even become aware that this thing existed?

Yeah, absolutely. My mom died of cancer in 1994 and I was lost. Sorry to hear that. Thank you.

I was lost. I felt so alone. You know, it's kind of like those films that you see where everybody is speeding by super fast. You can't even see them and I'm just barely walking.

That's what it felt like. And it was three years of just kind of going through the motions of life, but not feeling anything. And a friend suggested the grief recovery handbook, the method back in I think it was like two or three years after my mom died that I was introduced to the method and she walked me through the process. Okay.
