The grief recovery method was a great way for me to realize my own incomplete grief as well as get ready to help my children, or the children that I work with, grieve. I am excited to think about these new methods and have them in my back pocket to help others. I would recommend this program to others who are curious about how to help their children recover from grief.

Addressing the myths about grief recovery were the most helpful for me in thinking about how to relate to our 19 year-old granddaughter about the death of her mother 10 years ago, which she is still unwilling to talk about. We still have a long way to go.

I was able to close the chapter on the grief of my Mother and now have more comfort in knowing she is with me, always.

My Outlook on life has changed, and for the better. I now notice many instances if unresolved grief and response to loss. I feel empowered with actually knowing what to do about it. There are 3 things I would add to the classes, and or GRM... to make the process more assessable to different learning styles and capability: a. In homework reading assignments, give several specific questions each representative of a different chunk of information that me the student/participant has to look for, even if we can't ir no time to read much on task, we learn from the targeted hunt. b. More visuals, although the book is really great, rich with headings and checklists. c. Corresponding resource or link to audio recording or podcast, and video (even YouTube) for 1 to 3 min vignette so later and between each class, I can hear what you are teaching. Thank you. Hoping to find more people who know ... GRM is a Godsend

I was new to the basic concepts of "completion" by means of discovery and communication. The overall structure of the theory is clear and useful. The notion of STERBs directs attention to lots of various ways that uncompleted grief can manifest itself. The initial presentation of six faulty ways to respond to loss was sensible and helpful. The main idea is that emotions are real. If we don't allow children to feel their feelings, those feelings get stuffed down and become dangerous. It was easy to identify examples in my own childhood when I was told to "be strong" and deny my feelings. I found the training helpful mostly in completing aspects of my own grief (my wife died three years ago). But it also helps in thinking through my relationships with my grandchildren.

The Grief Recovery Method is amazing! Amazingly effective! I am doing extremely well , so much extra energy after completing, that i didnt know was tied up in old losses. So many little unfinished projects and repairs getting fixed after years of sort of being on hold. Including losing weight. (could it be just a coincidence?,...but nothing else changed....hmmm) So very grateful i found a grief recovery partner, listener. Thank you!
