Our support groups offer a safe, evidence-based environment for grievers to take effective and lasting action, no matter the type of loss experienced. These groups are led by Grief Recovery Method Specialists, trained and certified by the Grief Recovery Institute.

About The Format

This program can be taught once a week for 8 weeks or twice a week for 4 weeks. There are 2-3 days in between sessions if offered twice a week. Each session is approximately 2 hours long. There is reading and assignments in between sessions. New participants can join on sessions 1 or 2; after session 2 the group is closed. GRM Support Groups are not drop in style groups. All GRM programs are confidential, structured and action oriented.


A Note From The Presenter:

Dr. Gingold will run an in person/ hybrid two hour, eight week Grief Recovery Support Group on Saturdays in Summit, NJ. If participants need to miss the first group, they are welcome to join in the second group, However, the group will be closed out to newcomers after the second group. If participants can only join beginning the second group, the total fee will be adjusted to $1050. Every group attendance is mandatory. Please note that a one-hour intake assessment ($435) can be scheduled for out-of-network insurance reimbursement. Rachel Gingold, PhD

Dr. Gingold is a New Jersey, New York, and Interjurisdictionally Telepsychology (APIT) licensed psychologist who received her Ph.D. in developmental psychology from Yeshiva University in 2003. Her career has always focused on the transition from adolescence to young adulthood, and is passionate specifically around how developmental milestones are shaped by changes in societal norms. Dr. Gingold’s graduate work began with a master’s degree in counseling psychology in Boston at Northeastern University. It was during that time that she was trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) at the Women’s Treatment Program at McLean Hospital. She then completed a two-year marriage and family therapy residency program at Harvard Medical School and Blanton-Peale Counseling Center.
