Registration Closed
Our support groups offer a safe, evidence-based environment for grievers to take effective and lasting action, no matter the type of loss experienced. These groups are led by Grief Recovery Method Specialists, trained and certified by the Grief Recovery Institute.
About The Format
This program can be taught once a week for 8 weeks or twice a week for 4 weeks. There are 2-3 days in between sessions if offered twice a week. Each session is approximately 2 hours long. There is reading and assignments in between sessions. New participants can join on sessions 1 or 2; after session 2 the group is closed. GRM Support Groups are not drop in style groups. All GRM programs are confidential, structured and action oriented.
A Note From The Presenter:
Unlike traditional support groups, this group provides 16 hours over 8 weeks of structured discovery and action on how to move through the pain of heartbreak and lost hopes and dreams. Participants in this group are likely to have experienced loss in the form of the death of a loved one, including complex and tragic losses such as suicide or overdose. Participants may have been caretakers to a loved one who experienced a period of failing health. Participants are likely to have experienced the end of a significant relationship through a breakup, divorce, or estrangement. Participants are likely to have experienced a loss long ago or recognize a cumulative effect of compounding losses from experiences in childhood, relationships, career, health, change in faith or community of belonging.
This is not a therapeutic group to address trauma in a traditional sense; however, this may be appropriate for addressing the grief associated with trauma. The facilitator is a licensed mental health professional and will be able to provide referrals and recommendations for additional support that may be beyond the scope of this experience. Tamara has been providing counseling services for over 15years and has been facilitating the Grief Recovery Programs with individuals, groups, and community education since 2011.

Attendance is vital for your own recovery and the continuity of the group since each week builds on the previous week. When you register, please alert the facilitator of any planned absences so a plan can be made for making up the work in advance.
