Our support groups offer a safe, evidence-based environment for grievers to take effective and lasting action, no matter the type of loss experienced. These groups are led by Grief Recovery Method Specialists, trained and certified by the Grief Recovery Institute.
About The Format
This program can be taught once a week for 8 weeks or twice a week for 4 weeks. There are 2-3 days in between sessions if offered twice a week. Each session is approximately 2 hours long. There is reading and assignments in between sessions. New participants can join on sessions 1 or 2; after session 2 the group is closed. GRM Support Groups are not drop in style groups. All GRM programs are confidential, structured and action oriented.
A Note From The Presenter:
Often, I see people taking or needing to take a PAUSE in Life after a time of loss, its ensuing grief, and the necessary adaptations through the grieving process, and this is whether it be a time in which we find ourselves, or it is by choice.
The Grief Recovery Method®'s goal "is to help you complete your relationship to the pain, isolation, and loneliness caused by significant emotional loss. While death and divorce may seem to be the most obvious losses, our groups are not limited to those losses. There are more than 40 life events that can produce feelings of grief. These include things like moving, losing a pet, financial or health losses, or job losses.... As well as intangible things like trust, safety, respect, faith, or hope...."
Given our intrusive thoughts at times like these, the volatility of our emotions &/or the voices of others, we tend to hear that we must let go and move on in our lives. Yet we don't see how nor want to; additionally, they don't tell us how to accomplish it and embrace this reality.
The Grief Recovery Method® Outreach Program does make room for the possibilities. Through partnerships and guidance, it ensures it happens.
As you know ... because you're here contemplating taking a Moment to focus on yourself, taking actions that lead to recovery will require attention, open-mindedness, willingness, and courage.
These Virtual Sessions, which we call "Moments," will be held throughout the year. Your commitment requires you to take time for yourself for eight weeks consecutively. We have limited space, with only 8 participants per Cohort, so your presence in every Moment will be welcomed with gratitude. We do this to provide a closer and more intimate virtual space that fosters connection, mindfulness, transparency, confidentiality, and trust. ~ All in the hope that Peace will, Be Still!
Hope to take a Moment together soon.
Blessings,
Dahria
