Grief can be defined as the conflicted feelings that occur when there is an end of, or a change in a familiar pattern of behaviour.
Grief can result in a broken heart and in losing vision and purpose. It can have a huge impact on your productivity at home and work resulting in a possible loss of confidence, forgetfulness and feeling isolated. It can leave you feel empty, lost and sometimes even wondering what the point of life is.
I have been through many bereavements and losses in my life. My mum died when I was 13 and was left facing my grief alone without any effective support. People meant well but would often say things that were intellectually true but emotionally unhelpful. I went on to deal with the sudden loss of my brother at age 30. A year later, my 21-year-old sister took her own life due to a mental breakdown caused by a delayed grief reaction. A year later my father died. Later in life, I experienced 3 miscarriages and a variety of other losses.
My journey of processing this amount of grief and the pain it caused, has given me a wealth of personal experience to draw on and has motivated me to want to support others dealing with loss.
I am passionate about helping others reach their full potential despite their circumstances.
My experience of working in a Pastoral Care Team for 7 years, has led to a breadth of expertise in nurturing others through the pain of loss and other life challenges. I am based in London but work online virtually using zoom
