The loss of a pet can be emotionally devastating. Sadly, the impact of the heartbreak of this type of loss is often downplayed or ignored by friends and family. This 6-meeting program is focused on offering pet owners an effective mechanism for taking action to move through and beyond their grief.
About The Format
This program is taught in 6 sessions, either once a week for 6 weeks or twice a week for 3 weeks. There are 2-3 days in between sessions if offered twice a week. Each session is approximately 2 hours long. There is reading and assignments in between sessions. GRM Support Groups are not drop in style groups. All GRM programs are confidential, structured and action oriented.
A Note From The Presenter:
The bond we share with our pets is incredibly deep, and the emotional impact of that loss can be just as profound and agonizing as losing a human loved one, and perhaps harder to understand by our friends, family, and co-workers.
Just to let you know: Because of the holidays, we are not offering groups until 2026, but we can still do Zoom One-on-One sessions, and accommodate your calendar, call 661.297.1227.
This specially designed 6-session Pet Loss Program by the Grief Recovery Institute is focused on offering pet owners an effective mechanism, an action plan, to move through and beyond their grief.
With more than 40 years of experience helping people deal with grief, the Specialists at the Grief Recovery Institute know that Grief is Grief, and there ARE things we can do to help us grieve more effectively and completely, giving us more beneficial results.
The cost includes the book and all materials. Maximum class size is 9 people, so sign up soon to confirm your spot! Partial scholarships may be available upon request. Each session is approximately 2 hours in length. I'd love to help you process the loss of your pet - whether through death, rehoming, or going missing. Pets are the epitome of the definition of "unconditional love" - and their loss in our lives deserves respect and honor. Come join our group!
I encourage you to give me a free call to answer any questions you might have about me or the program. Most people have never done anything quite like this, but according to the reviews and the results documented by Kent State University, the program is Evidence-Based and has been proven effective. You can find out more about me, including how to schedule a free call at my website at https://bruce-mcfarland-grm.com/
IMPORTANT NOTES:
• Participants must use a laptop or tablet – phones are not allowed. This helps ensure you can fully view the course materials and the visuals being shared. We will be using the Zoom platform for our classes, but if you are nervous about using Zoom or have never used it before, we can set up a test session to talk, and make sure you are comfortable with using it. Just give me a call.
• There will be homework and you will be interacting with other people in the class. We demand a safe environment for everyone and ask everyone to commit to honesty and confidentiality before we start every session. We are non-judgmental and are not there to fix you. We are there to listen.
• If having other people around makes you really apprehensive for any reason, you may want to consider doing a one-on-one Pet Loss course. Please contact me to talk about it and make arrangements.
• Groups are limited to no more than 9 people, no fewer than 4. Therefore, if fewer than 4 people register, the group may be cancelled or rescheduled.
• The group will close to new participants after the first session, and no additional members can join beyond that point. If you're unable to attend all 6 sessions, please contact me in advance to discuss your options. Consistent attendance is essential for everyone’s experience.
• If more than one family member would like to join, each person must participate using a separate device from a separate room to maintain focus, participation, and confidentiality.
• The cost of this program includes your book and all materials. Payment should be completed two weeks before the first session so I can make sure your materials get to you in time. I will need your correct mailing address to send the materials to. If you are local, I have a credit card terminal, otherwise I will send you a secure link to make a credit card payment.
• If for some reason, the group session you signed up for has to be cancelled, you may request a full refund (less $20 if we already sent you your book), or you may choose to use the credit for another program of any type with me.
