Description: The loss of a beloved pet can be a deeply painful experience, often leading to a unique and profound sense of grief. David Brinker's 6-week online peer support group is dedicated to helping individuals navigate the unique emotional journey of pet loss, utilizing the proven Grief Recovery Method® to find healing and peace.

Topics We Will Cover Include: • Understanding Pet Loss Grief: Acknowledging the depth and legitimacy of grief experienced after losing a pet. Sadly, many people don’t see pet loss as real grief. • Applying the Grief Recovery Method®: Learning this structured step by step approach to process and move through your grief effectively. • Understanding the myths and misinformation about grief that don’t help healing. • Identifying short-term energy relieving behaviors we use to cope or cover pain. • Finding clarity about our own pet loss history and relationships with pets. • Consider the hopes, dreams and unmet expectations we had for our pet. • Creating a safe space for participants to share stories and memories of their pets, fostering acceptance, care and mutual support. • Learning how to take the proven steps to healing the pain of your heartache and recovering from the emotional impact of the loss.

“It is never too late or too early to heal your heart.”
“Unresolved grief moves on with us into the future, showing up in unexpected ways, until we give voice to the emotional messages that are behind our feelings of grief.”

My name is David Brinker. Like so many others I have experienced different kinds of loss over the years. In a short period of time, my father-in-law died, I moved to change jobs, I faced a change in financial security, a friend completed suicide, my mother-in-law and sister-in-law died, I experienced a physical trauma resulting in a serious life-threatening health problem, my father died, my mother had to go to a care facility and then she died, and the best dog I ever had died. I even felt a loss over ways my religious community hurt me.

I didn't know what to do with the feelings caused by these losses. The confusing feelings felt like I was carrying around a bag of unwanted rocks....
