About The Format

This program can be taught once a week for 8 weeks or twice a week for 4 weeks. There are 2-3 days in between sessions if offered twice a week. Each session is approximately 2 hours long. There is reading and assignments in between sessions. New participants can join on sessions 1 or 2; after session 2 the group is closed. GRM Support Groups are not drop in style groups. All GRM programs are confidential, structured and action oriented.

A Note From The Presenter:

Grief is emotional, not logical
The grief that comes with emotional loss can be overwhelming and incredibly isolating. You may find the people you normally count on for emotional support are ill equipped when it comes to offering effective and meaningful help. You will often hear logical reasons why you should not feel bad, but that rarely helps because grief is emotional and not intellectual! You are suffering from a broken heart, not a broken head! The fact you are seeking help in dealing with grief is not a sign of weakness, but rather a recognition on your part you are interested in taking recovery actions!

While some people prefer to work in a group setting with other grievers, many find it easier to work with a trained GRM Specialist one-on-one. This allows you the privacy to discuss your emotional pain, with someone who has used the same tools they are offering you, in order to deal with heartbreak that has impacted your life.

Our GRM Specialists are trained and certified to help create a safe environment for you to discover and complete the emotional pain of any type of loss, and they become a "heart with ears" to listen and support you through the Grief Recovery Method process without analysis, criticism or judgment.

This program is for people who prefer to work in a group setting rather than one-on-one, which is also offered if that works better for you. The 8-week session format utilizes the proven materials and can be completed in-person or online. As a Grief Recovery Method Specialist I am specifically trained to help you move through loss with dignity and respect.

I also hold a deep commitment to supporting our military service members as they return from deployment and face the challenges of reintegration.

My personal journey with loss—losing both of my parents in consecutive years—showed me firsthand how overwhelming grief can be for individuals and families. During this time, my son introduced me to the Grief Recovery Method through his own counseling experience. That introduction was life-changing, and it inspired me to dedicate myself fully to this work.
