I'm Jodie and I am an Advanced Grief Recovery Method Specialist in Lafayette, LA in the heart of Cajun country. I see clients in the Lafayette and surrounding Acadiana area. I am also trained to work with clients online who may not be near me. My journey with grief began in 2012 after the devastating loss of my mom after an 18th month battle with cancer. The next 2 years followed with the loss of all three of my pregnancies. Just as I thought I was doing better and getting a handle on my grief, my dad died in 2018. After struggling for years with the emotional rollercoaster of emotions, a friend introduced me to the Grief Recovery Method. I signed up to be a Certified Grief Recovery Specialist ®before I finished my last session. After years of suffering, I found the tools that I needed to begin my recovery and to start living a joyful life again.
My background includes a BA in Psychology and a MS in Rehabilitation Counseling. I have worked with students in college with disabilities for almost 20 years. The next phase in my life will be dedicated to helping others reach the freedom from grief that I have experienced. I am able to offer In-person 1-on-1's, Online 1-on-1, and Group sessions.
