Hello and welcome to my page. My name is Judith. Thank you for taking the first step in exploring how the Grief Recovery Method® programmes I offer could help you.

Are you feeling bereft, heartbroken, lost, stuck, anxious, angry or any of a myriad of emotions, perhaps conflicting, following a loss? Are people telling you to just ‘move on’ or ‘keep busy’ yet nothing eases your pain? Perhaps you do not know where to start or who to talk to? Through 1:1 and Group programmes, I offer a safe and confidential space for you to gently work through what is keeping you in pain, stuck or unable to be in the present moment following a loss of any kind using the step by step personal action plan offered by the Grief Recovery Method®.

Please don’t wait for time alone to heal- it doesn’t. You can take action to heal your heart now. Please contact me to arrange a no obligation informal chat to talk about what has been happening for you and to see whether you feel a Grief Recovery Method® programme is right for you.

My story

In 2018 I had a breakdown. It seemed to come out of nowhere. The following year my family and I experienced a significant loss which impacted us all deeply. Whilst struggling to support my children in their grief my sister-in-law recommended that I read the book ‘When Children Grieve’ by John W James and Russell Friedman. It was while reading this book that I had a lightbulb moment. I realised that my breakdown had been caused by unresolved grief and the cumulative weight of losses built up in me over many years - bereavements, relationship breakdown, a loss of health etc. My sister-in-law, suggested I attend a Grief Recovery Method® personal workshop to explore this. It was a turning point in my life.

Having walked through the steps of the Grief Recovery Method® myself, and having experienced the incredibly positive impact using the Grief Recovery Method® had on my own life- releasing me from pain long carried and allowing me to walk forward unimaginably lighter in life - in 2019, I trained to teach others this powerful step by step action plan so that they too could be released as I have been. Grief recovery means feeling better. It does not mean forgetting but it does mean being able to walk forward relieved of pain.

For many the term ‘Grief’ is associated with bereavement, but, as well as the loss of a loved one, there are over 40 other life events can evoke grief through loss including relationship breakdown, redundancy and infertility. If you are grieving a loss of any kind, I am here for you. Grief associated with a life-long or life-changing diagnosis, either your own or that of a family member, is also often overlooked but can have a very significant impact on the lives of many people in terms of lost hope, dreams and expectations. If this resonates with you, as it did me, please get in touch.

It was not until I discovered the Grief Recovery Method® that I found something which could release me from the pain I had personally been carrying due to loss in my life. Many people will be familiar with the concept of counselling or therapy following a loss. Perhaps you have tried it. While counselling can be of some benefit, it tends to offer a path to discovery of the thoughts and feelings you have around the loss in your life. But discovery is not the same as recovery. The Grief Recovery Method® is a personal action plan. It is a series of practical small steps that when taken, in order, by the griever leads to the completion of all the unresolved emotional business linked to the loss. It is this completion which relieves grievers of pain. The Grief Recovery Method® is also - to the best of my knowledge - the only grief support programme with an evidence base to its positive impact.

If any of the above has resonated with you and you would like to find out more and see if a Grief Recovery Method® programme with me could be right for you - 1:1 or in a group, through video calls or in person (as current circumstances allow) - please do get in touch My face to face programmes take place in Coventry, West Midlands, UK.

Alongside my work with grievers I also offer a Helping Children with Loss (HCWL) Programme.

Having felt completely out of my depth in supporting my children through loss before I found the Grief Recovery Method® and having witnessed the grief of a school community, children and adults alike, following the loss of a hugely loved student twice in my life, I am passionate about the HCWL programme.
The Helping Children with Loss programme is a programme for adults - parents, teachers and other professionals - who would like to be better equipped to help the children in their care cope with losses of any kind. It uses the principles of the Grief Recovery Method but adapts them for use with children of all ages and ability levels.

With the ongoing myriad impacts of the Coronavirus pandemic, now more than ever, those supporting children and young people need the skills to support them through loss of all kinds. You can find out more about HCWL below.

If you wish to learn how to support children and young people experiencing loss please do contact me for a no obligation chat about the HCWL programme.
