I'm a fellow griever. I've spent 40 years coming alongside the hurting, the houseless, the marginalized and the lonely. I've sat in hospital waiting rooms, held the hands of the dying and comforted the grieving. Through those years, I've learned the value of listening well, caring without judgment and offering a welcome space of compassion. I was led to Grief Recovery Method to learn additional strategies to support grievers. The method set me free in my own grief journey. I loved the forward movement the method provided to those who feel stuck in their sorrow. As a story collector, I have heard pain released into hope and watched lives change. I believe in the simplicity and effectiveness of the method.
I am a grief speacialist for a local hospice in Portland, OR. As a retired pastor, I am able to assist those who have been wounded by well-meaning church folk or wrestle through faith issues with those who have felt angry at or abandoned by God. I offer one-on-one support, group support, online support and alumni sessions.
