Grief comes as a result of many different typle of losses. While the death of my beloved husband brought me to become trained in Grief Recovery Method, it was thanks to this program and tools that I learned the impact that early losses in life can have on each of us throughout our life.
Our current season of Covid 19 has disrupted our children in many ways. They have been separated from their familiar schedules, friends, teachers, sports, camp and church programs. Some children may have experienced loss associated with the death of a beloved family member or perhaps a cherished pet. Grief is not restricted to this season but has indeed become universal to children in a way we rarely see.
In addition to being an Advanced Grief Recovery Specialist I am also a Mother, Grandmother, Retired Healthcare provider and am actively involved in my church and community. I am passionate about helping adults learn how to support children through unavoidable life's losses.
At the young age of just 12 years old I experienced the tragic death of my mother and can remember to this day the painful things that were said to me that were intellectually correct, but not helpful to healing my heart. I am passionate about the Helping Children with Loss program because it shares with adults how to avoid saying "the wrong thing" and unintentionally causing additional pain.
Participants in this course have been teachers, parents and grandparents as well as other adults who work routinely with children and want to be prepared. I think of this as an emotional first aid course.
I provide the following Grief Recovery Training programs:
1. Helping Children with Loss - a four week meeting schedule (for adults)
2. One to One Grief Recovery Method Program - an one to one program that currently is delivered online allowing you to connect with me without leaving your home
3. Grief Support Groups - an eight session workshop
Went to the class to support my son who is an educator. I had recently had some losses and learned about helping children deal with loss and took away many ideas to help myself. I now feel that i have the tools to help a child dealing with loss.Helping Children With Loss06/17/2019
