I am now an Advanced Grief Recovery Specialist as of March 2020! :)

I was trained and certified by the Grief Recovery Institute, September 2010. I was also trained as a Stephen Minister (June 2001) and Stephen Minister Leader (July 2003).

Why Grief Recovery?

When I lost my infant daughters, Bethany, Susan and Danielle, identical triplets, it changed my life. Many people offer their condolences and many more, meaning well, inadvertently say the wrong things. Many give books about grief, ok, it's nice to know we're not the only ones and to read about someone else's story, but how does that help me?

After being miserable for months on end, I was ready for something different. I went to a grief group and it was extremely helpful! I went to another grief group, but did not find what I needed there, they seemed to be stuck with their identity in being a griever for that loved one that died. Then we sought a counselor which gave me this book: The Grief Recovery Handbook! Wow! It taught me how to recover; of course you never forget, and there can still be tears and moments of sadness, but not as intense and painful. 

I also had a miscarriage, postpartum depression, and recently I was going through a divorce, which lead to the suicide of my husband, and a year later my mother passed away two days before her 80th birthday. My father’s health has been in decline with Parkinson’s. There have been moves from homes I thought I would have lived in and been able to raise my family in, deaths of beloved pets, loss of jobs, changes in health and finances, etc.

I teach you how to work through your grief or how to teach your children how to work through their grief. It sets you free to move on with your life and not be burdened by the past. I teach you the tools you can use in the future to apply to any difficult circumstance you may encounter. Don’t waste years of your life like I did, being miserable and unable to function, have courage and the sooner the better. 

I welcome you to come join me online via Zoom, one-on-one, to help you move beyond your pain and have a new fresh breath of freedom. I am available for group classes as well for your church, business or social clubs. 

Grief recovery is an educational tool and is not therapy based, i. e. not covered by insurance.

I am in the Athens, Georgia area, but can work with anyone that has access to the internet via Zoom. :)
