My journey with the Grief Recovery Institute began in 2016. I was an ordained, seasoned Pastor and Chaplain, with extensive public service experience, serving as Chaplain at a leading local hospice. Although my certification as Grief Recovery Specialist was a professional requirement, the event was truly a life-changing experience for me, a turning point in my life.

Amazingly, the Grief Recovery Method Program opened my eyes to discover a grieving heart within me, which I had long learned to conceal while performing in life, constantly serving others while life found me always too busy to enjoy. I discovered that I had become a workaholic. This was my turning point!

The Grief Recovery Method taught me the true definition of grief and the misconceptions that keep grievers stuck in life. I acquired a priceless set of skills to address grief properly so I can enjoy life fully. I can truthfully say that this action-oriented, evidence-based program helped to transform my life. It can transform yours as well!

In March 2020, at the onset of the pandemic that turned our world upside down, I relocated as planned to beautiful Peoria, Arizona, to be closer to my family. The events and measures that followed my arrival to my new community brought my plans for hospice employment to an abrupt halt, as we all found ourselves moved to a new, temporary, yet heartbreaking lifestyle of necessary social distancing and protective seclusion.

The year 2021 brought with it beams of hope, and the world rejoiced. Desperately needed vaccines became available. It also found the Grief Recovery Method Institute, whose vision is “To help as many grievers as possible in the least amount of time possible,” providing Grief Recovery Specialists like myself the opportunity to obtain an advanced certification to offer the Grief Recovery Method programs online.

Months of solitude in my new home provided me the opportunity to watch unprecedented levels of grief affecting every home and every heart, young and old. The enormity of the crisis we witnessed compelled me to change my original plans. After prayerful reflection, I decided to dedicate my full time and attention to providing the life-changing benefits of the Grief Recovery Method to those who are ready to invest in their healing for an amazing future.

March 2021 marked the first anniversary of my arrival to Peoria, Arizona. I began this new chapter of my life as a Certified Advanced Grief Recovery Specialist, having packaged all my gifts, abilities, and Grief Recovery Method knowledge and expertise, to offer my in-person and online clients the best level of support, beginning with a complimentary discovery session, to help facilitate their initial decision and their ultimate grief recovery success.

I presently provide several action-oriented Grief Recovery Method programs online, including Grief Support One-on-One, Grief Support Group, Pet Loss Support Group, and Helping Children with Loss, a program for parents and other adults caring for children, using the book “When Children Grieve,” authored by John W. James and Russell Friedman.

All Grief Recovery Method programs offered online observe the highest levels of security and privacy protection as mandated by law. The in-person Grief Recovery Method programs observe all COVID-19 precautions, wearing masks, sitting 6 feet apart, and class size limited to the size of the room being used.
