A Note From The Presenter:
Helping Children with Loss Information Session
Children today are growing up in a world filled with rapid change, uncertainty, and emotional disruption.
Many are quietly carrying fear and confusion related to immigration enforcement actions affecting their families and communities, exposure to wars and global conflict, community violence, displacement, and the constant stream of distressing news they cannot fully understand.
Even when adults try to protect them, children feel the emotional impact.
Yet most adults were never taught how to help children process grief, fear, change, and loss in healthy ways.
Join this free informational session to learn how the Helping Children with Loss program supports educators, caregivers, and helping professionals in responding to children with understanding, confidence, and compassion.
During this session, you will:
• Understand how current world events — including immigration fears, war, violence, and social uncertainty — affect children emotionally and behaviorally
• Learn how grief and loss often appear as anxiety, withdrawal, anger, or difficulty concentrating
• Explore ways to create emotionally safe spaces where children can express feelings without shame
• Discover practical tools adults can use immediately when children are experiencing change, fear, or loss
• Learn how the full Helping Children with Loss program builds long-term emotional support skills
Children do not need perfect answers about the world.
They need adults who can help them feel safe enough to share what is in their hearts.
Grief is not limited to death.
It includes loss of safety, stability, belonging, certainty, and normalcy — experiences many children are navigating right now.
Together, we can normalize grief and help children know they are seen, supported, and not alone.
