Testimonials For One-on-One Support
The scaffolding, awareness, depth, progression, testimonies and examples in the book, testimonies and examples from the facilitator, and warm empathy and compassion (and encouragement) from the facilitator were the strongest contributors. Ultimately achieving "completion" was huge.

This is a program like no other. The content is excellent and my coach/ counselor was very warm, wise, kind, and affirming. She helped me address many issues that have impacted my life deeply. Now, after the program, I feel more courageous and peaceful about moving forward.

Lorri Penner has a gift in helping people shift through grief of any kind. Lorri believed in me and gave me a new lease on life when I was struggling and led me on a healing journey that truly changed my life. She took my calls and texts in stride and always made time for me when I needed it most. She is one of the most heart-centered leaders I know and has a heart of pure gold. I cannot recommend Lorri and this program enough. If you or someone you love is looking to as Lorri said, heal your broken heart, she is who you need on this journey. What I have learned is that grief is not only about loss from a death, grief is normal and okay, we are not flawed because we are grieving, our losses are all unique, and being heard is critical to our journey. Thank you!

I was hesitant to sign up for the program, but a friend suggested I should. After going through a divorce, moving to a new place, finding new friends, and looking for a new job, I was overwhelmed. With Laura's help, I was able to work through the relationship with my ex-wife and now I am working on other relationships. I can finally feel the steam kettle simmering and not exploding.

I was skeptical at first. The knowledge I gained on how to properly handle grief was so valuable. I won’t lie... the timelines were a lot more emotionally draining than I thought they would be. The closure at the end - made it worth it.

I thought I was fine when it came to the absence of my dad. I didn't realize how much I needed to say and experience. I feel like I have been able to let go of the many experiences I have held on to my whole life when he was in my life and the experiences he has missed out on when he hasn't been.

I was able to let go of stuck, stagnated emotions, which not only improved my mental health but my physical health as well. I feel I have more spaciousness in my current relationships, and I have the tools to work through past incomplete relationships.

I feel more “settled” within myself. This is allowing me to think and focus much better and clearer. I’m still feeling sadness , but at a level that allows me to function emotionally and physically on a much healthier level.

The program provided a lot about which to think. First, the definition of grief was a very inclusive and a different perspective, causing me to identify many incidents of loss/ grief during my life. The presentation of myths and STERBs helped me to identify behaviors and feelings that I had unknowingly experienced or done. The Loss Graph and Relationship Graphs were extremely helpful in identifying specific losses and then in guiding my focus to one particular loss. Categorizing my thoughts under apologies, forgiveness and significant emotional events was a very good way to organize my thoughts for the completion letter. The final chapters furnished me with sequential steps, providing a way to identify and take action to finish my incomplete communications. The journey through the program was very emotional, with the realization that I had buried many feelings and incomplete communications. At the completion of the program. I felt relieved to have identified and addressed those previously buried thoughts and feelings. I do feel a sense of completion.

I felt I was able to let go of old hurts and a weight was lifted from my heart and mind.

I truly felt a release after reading the letter out loud. It was never so hard to say good-bye and it was almost 24 years since I lost my husband, father to our children. I can't imagine a better teacher/facilitator than Suzanne Accardo. She listened intently and never judged. A very emotional experience but one worth going through.

The Grief Recovery Program helped me to process the areas where I was getting stuck in my grief. It helped me let go of the pain I was holding on to and I learned ways to express how I was feeling in other healthy ways. Denise Demarco did a wonderful job of being a witness to my pain and I felt her empathy throughout the program. She had also lost loved ones so I felt very connected to her because she could understand what I was going trough.

This program opened my eyes to see loss, grief, forgiveness and apologies in a more positive constructive light. I was given tools to recognize losses in my past where there were incomplete communications affecting my life today. And how to complete these. I love this program. It is short, direct, and effective.

The structure and the homework was helpful to me. I found some of the language in the text a bit dated but I was able to get a lot out of my experience by finding and following what was helpful and leaving the rest. I would highly recommend to others that they work with a professional if possible, had I just picked up the book I may not have stuck with it on my own.
