A Note From The Presenter:

HR professionals often support others through some of the most difficult moments in the workplace. This roundtable will explore how experiences of grief and loss can quietly influence presenteeism, focus, and productivity. Together we will create a thoughtful space for HR leaders to share perspectives, reflect on the human side of performance, and gather insights that support both their organizations and their own wellbeing.

When I was a freshman in college, my mother was diagnosed with liver cancer. I was devastated. While I was fortunate to spend time with her before she passed, nothing prepared me for the depth of loss I felt once she was gone. It was as if her death left a hole in my heart and in my life.

After college, I moved to Atlanta, Georgia, began a career in advertising, and eventually got married. Like so many people, I believed that time would heal. I stayed busy. I moved forward. I assumed the pain would fade.
