My Story - I offer one-on-one online programs and group online programs of The Grief Recovery Method.
When I was a freshman in college, my mother was diagnosed with liver cancer. I was devastated. While I was fortunate to spend time with her before she passed, nothing prepared me for the depth of loss I felt once she was gone. It was as if her death left a hole in my heart and in my life.
After college, I moved to Atlanta, Georgia, began a career in advertising, and eventually got married. Like so many people, I believed that time would heal. I stayed busy. I moved forward. I assumed the pain would fade.
Then I became pregnant — and lost my son, Liam, to stillbirth at 38 weeks.
Once again, I found myself in profound pain and anguish — grieving not only the death of my child, but eventually the loss of my marriage as well. This time, it was different. I couldn’t just move away, throw myself into work, or stay busy enough to make the pain disappear. No amount of therapy or time truly healed these wounds.
Years later, I attended a presentation where a woman spoke about the loss of her son. Without warning, I broke down into uncontrollable sobs. Even though my life had moved forward; I had a career in coaching, a dog, a new husband, and had traveled the world — in that moment, I was right back in the raw pain of losing my mom and my son.
That speaker was a certified Grief Recovery Method® Specialist.
The rest is history.
I completed The Grief Recovery Method® Program, and for the first time in my adult life, I truly began to heal. While nothing could ever erase my losses, the program showed me how to emotionally complete the relationships that ended too soon and how to take the first real steps back toward joyful living.
Grief Recovery In the Workplace - I offer one-on-one online programs and group online programs of The Grief Recovery Method Programs.
My personal experience with loss is what fuels my passion for bringing The Grief Recovery Method® into companies as a meaningful benefit for employees.
Grief does not stay at home. Employees bring unresolved loss into their work every day — affecting focus, productivity, engagement, relationships, and overall wellbeing. Yet most workplaces are not equipped to address grief in a practical, skill-based way.
I believe organizations have a powerful opportunity to support their people not just as employees, but as humans.
By offering The Grief Recovery Method® as a workplace benefit, companies can:
• Support emotional and mental health proactively
• Improve productivity and focus
• Reduce burnout, disengagement, and absenteeism
• Foster a culture of care, trust, and resilience
Organizations can provide employees with tools that change lives, both inside and outside of work. This work is deeply personal for me. It’s also deeply practical for companies. And it’s my mission to help companies become places where healing, growth, and human resilience are truly supported. To learn more set up a call with Jenn.
