Paul is retired after almost forty years in the life insurance industry. Over the course of his career, Paul was a salesman for a major mutual insurance company and rose through the ranks of a Fortune 500 insurance company in marketing, training, sales support, new business processing and bank marketing. After a brief stint for a New York City training company, Paul’s creative skills produced educational video, webcasts and audio programs for a national trade organization of financial service professionals. Paul finished his career with a major mutual life insurance company in New York City where he produced training programs for financial representatives and edited web-based training for a proprietary financial planning system.
Paul became involved in grief support in 1992 when he joined The Compassionate Friends, the international organization for supporting bereaved parents, grandparents and siblings. That was the year his son Brian died as a result of a car accident. He was 17. Paul was in chapter leadership and had training from TCF. Paul started a grief support group at his New Jersey church after several training sessions sponsored by the Catholic Diocese of Trenton. Paul also wrote a column on grief for the GriefWork: A National Servite Ministry of Compassion blog page.
After moving to Summerville, SC, Paul began grief support at his church. Paul discovered Grief Recovery Method in 2018 and after investigating it on line, he attended their five day training program in Atlanta.
His first group training was in early 2019 with seven attendees. He will be offering the program again at his church and at neighboring parishes.

This program is for people who prefer to work one-on-one rather than in a group setting. The 7-session format utilizes the same proven materials as the group programs and can be completed in-person with a Grief Recovery Method Specialist specifically trained to help people move through loss with dignity and respect.
