The program was helpful in thinking about the myths we carry around about grief and recovery. I had a hard time with this idea of "completing" grief--doesn't seem to fit this idea that we live with the loss for a lifetime. I also think the program should consider how this process could work with children who are hesitant or resistant to talking about their grief, articulating forgiveness and apologies, etc. The examples used in the book were of children who readily spoke about their grief -- it's just not that easy in the real world, especially with teenagers. It was frustrating, at times, to read about strategies that can't just be put into place with children who won't talk.

I have wanted to participate in the GRM training for several years and was thrilled to be provided the opportunity by my employer. As much as I had read and learned about the training, I was not prepared for the intense, positive, impact it had on my own grief recovery!
