I’m Andy Bunch. I remember sitting in my dad’s lap as he read books, and I’ve wanted to be a writer ever since. In school, a learning disability made me a slow reader and a terrible speller. Everyone, including my dad, tried to convince me that being an author wasn’t in the cards. I was convinced school just wasn’t teaching me well and determined I would prove them all wrong.
Only when my dad passed in 2003, did I really ask myself why I wanted to be a writer. That led to a decades long journey for answers. The Grief Recovery Method has been a critical piece of that journey. I’m now a successful copywriter and coach living in Vancouver, Washington.
I was right, there are better ways to teach, but until I completed my relationship with my Dad, and with institutional education, I couldn’t get traction toward my career.
