Hi - I'm Charmissa - pronounced like Charles + Missy. (I'm named after my Daddy!) I found the Grief Recovery Method® by accident when I was looking into completing another Life Coaching Certification. When I mentioned to my advisor that I was mostly interested in Life After Loss, and helping people put their lives back together after the devastation of grief, she told about The Grief Recovery Handbook. About 5 minutes later, it was in my cart on Amazon! When the book came 2 days later, I immediately began reading the introduction, thinking it would be a great resource for a Life After Loss Group I was already leading. But just then I read the words, "avoid the temptation of thinking that reading this book or taking the actions in it prepares you to help others." So then I'm thinking, well what does? I went to the website, and saw the option for the training and scheduled a consultation. This was on a Saturday. On Monday morning, I had a call to learn more about this process. That afternoon I decided to click the registration button and I began the 4-day training on Friday. So within 11 days, I heard about it, bought the book, registered, listened to the book and completed my 4 day training! So yeah, accidentally, but right on time!
Of course we went through the method ourselves during the training. As a Minister and a Certified Life Coach, I have more appreciation for this program than all of the ways I tried to address the sudden and unexpected loss of my Granddad, less than 3 months later, my Dad, and then less than 16 months later, my Mom. In fact, I healed more in 2 1/2 DAYS than I did in 2 1/2 YEARS, concerning the loss of my Daddy. In that short time, it was like someone had unlocked the keys to facing and successfully navigating through that massive cloud of grief, one loss at a time. And now I'm hoping to help others do the same!

This program is for people who prefer to work one-on-one rather than in a group setting. The 7-session format utilizes the same proven materials as the group programs and can be completed in-person with a Grief Recovery Method Specialist specifically trained to help people move through loss with dignity and respect.
