I am a Registered Psychologist in the Province of Alberta, Canada, and I have been practicing since January 2009. Over the past decade and a half, I have worked with many clients who have been struggling with various issues related to loss in their life.
As I continued to work with my clients, I realized that identifying these issues and helping them move forward were two different things. It was then that I discovered the Grief Recovery Institute and their concepts of being “a heart with ears” and working to “complete a loss.” I was drawn to the idea of being “a heart with ears” as it truly reflected the kind of therapist I strive to be: compassionate, empathetic, and attentive to the needs of my clients. I was also impressed with the power of having a griever tell me their story in a safe and supportive environment.
After becoming a Grief Recovery Specialist, I have made this approach an integral part of all my therapeutic work. I have received positive feedback from my clients, who have thanked me for my compassionate listening, deep understanding, and exceptional skills in helping them navigate their grief and loss. I am honored to have the opportunity to work with my clients and help them find peace, healing, and hope amidst their pain and loss.
