Hi. I'm Gihan (pronounced Jehanne), and like many who find their way to this work, I came to the Grief Recovery Method through my own experiences of loss.
Each of these losses left an imprint on my heart—and like many, I struggled to find meaningful support. With the Grief Recovery Method I found tools, language, and validation for what I was experiencing. While grief is a normal and natural response to loss, sadly, we live in a culture that is grief-illiterate. As grievers, we often feel like we must do this all alone and most people don’t know what to say or how to help, often leaving grievers feeling even more isolated.
The Grief Recovery Method gave me a deeper understanding of grief, what it means to fully process and move through loss with compassion AND that it is necessary to feel our grief. As a culture, so many of us fear and reject this fundamental and necessary human experience.
As a Certified Grief Recovery Specialist, I’m honoured to support others on their journey. I offer one-on-one services online, creating a safe, compassionate, nonjudgmental space where you can be heard, supported, and guided through your grief—whether it’s due to death, divorce, estrangement, or any other kind of loss. This can be a fairly recent loss or one that occurred years ago.
