Four and a half years ago, my world imploded. My husband and soul mate of seventeen years was killed suddenly in an auto accident on his way home. When I got the knock at the door and they said, "there's been a terrible accident"... the bottom fell out of our world.
I thought that was the worst moment of my life. It wasn’t. The worst moment of my life occurred a few minutes later when I had to tell my son his dad was gone…forever.
Unfortunately, that was just the beginning of a journey I did not plan to take. Fortunately, I found the Grief Recovery Method during that journey. That tragic event, and the ensuing secondary losses, became the catalyst for my career as a Widowed Coach after I shepherded myself, my then-eleven-year-old son and adult stepdaughter through that transformative experience. My husband and I both had successful corporate jobs, owned a business and were managing through some health challenges...grief blew all of that to smithereens. Additionally, in my life, I have managed through several personal losses, including the sudden death of one of my sisters and my father’s diagnosis with Alzheimer’s Disease.
Using the tools provided by the Grief Recovery Institute® as a Grief Recovery Specialist® has enabled me to complete some of those relationships in a way that allows me to make room for peace in my life and that of my loved ones. Helping individuals successfully manage the challenges of grief is a passion of mine.
Grief recovery isn't just about completing relationships....it's about making room for joy, for the good memories. I love my life and the peace I have with not being stuck in my grief...let me help you make room for that for you as well.
I provide Grief Recovery Method Programs for groups and individuals, children (via helping parents with the "When Children Grieve" Program,) and Pet Loss groups for our furry and feathered family members. My service area includes the following communities: Crystal Lake, Lakewood, Village of Lakewood, Cary, Algonquin, Lake in the Hills, Barrington, Lake Barrington, Fox River Grove, McHenry and Bull Valley.
