I was born and raised in Pakistan. I moved to Canada in 2002. I hold an MS in General Psychology and an M.Phil in Applied Psychology from Pakistan, and carry a wealth of experience in working with immigrant, newcomer, and refugee families experiencing violence. I have been serving my community since 2007.
My personal grief journey started in 2015 with my father's unexpected and sudden death. I never get the chance to say "Thank you" and "I love you" to him. There were many losses attached to his death and as a result, my whole life changed. My perspective on looking at things changed. There were so many blessings which I was taking for granted in his life. My mother's death was also another very significant loss in my life. She was the most important person in my life.
Moving to Canada was also a great loss for me. I chose it as my new home. I couldn't understand the reason for feeling so much sadness after coming here. I was very confused about my conflicting feelings. I was able to understand about these conflicting feelings after I took this training and went through the process of The Grief Recovery Method.
I am located in Edmonton, AB in Canada. I offer grief groups, helping children with loss groups, pet loss-specific groups, and one on one's both in person as well as online in Urdu, Punjabi, Hindi, and English languages.
