I am an Advanced Grief Recovery Method Specialist and a highly expereinced Trauma-Informed Registered Professional Counsellor (RPC, Canada). I serve Vancouver, Canada and work with many clients around the world using video conferencing. USA, Europe, UK
My grief story begins very early in my life. At age 7, I experienced the devastating death of my mother and subsequent life in a family torn by incomplete grief. When I was introduced to GRM many years ago, I thought “Can it be possible to take specific actions that help us in such pain?” I shout a resounding YES! I am forever grateful to the Grief Recovery Method for both helping me personally AND teaching me to walk with empathy beside grievers, teaching and enabling them to become complete with their unprocessed emotions and return to a meaningful life.
My early experiences led me to have a special interest in helping those who have lost a parent though death or through chronic or life threatening physical/mental illness. However I work with losses of all kinds, whether recent or long in your past.
I can help both you and your children if they have experienced loss. I use the wonderful book When Children Grieve. It is possible for familes and teens to experience the power and possibility of healing their broken hearts.
After graduating from Harding University in the USA with a B.A. in Special Education, I completed courses in pastoral counselling and was privileged to work with families in a multinational faith community for 26 years. I have been a counsellor since 2008 and in November 2016 earned the designation Master Practitioner in Clinical Counselling (MPCC) and transitioned into full time teaching, training and counselling. I am a registered counsellor with the Canadian Professional Counsellor’s Association (https://www.cpca-rpc.ca/).
I offer you a warm welcome to contact me via email to set up a FREE 30 minute consultation. I usually respond within 24 hours. My work hours are Tuesdays - Thursdays 8am to 5pm and Saturday mornings. I'm in the Pacific time zone.
It worked very well, and I learned a lot of very helpful things. I did find the method very narrow in how it seeks to guide people to completion of grief though. That doesn't mean it's bad. It could be better though.Helping Children With Loss06/01/2019
Having completed the Grief Recovery Method has given and will give me the ability to understand and complete previous emotional barriers caused by the many losses in my life. I noticed the positive affect this program has in my close relationships.1-on-1 Online SupportParticipant in Richmond, British Columbia05/14/2019
One of the most impactful aspects of the program for me was redefining my notions about what grief is, when it happens, why it happens, and learning how much of it I experience that I wrote off prior to the class. This would create a lot of guilt, shame, anger, and of course sadness. I feel like this glass has given me some good tools, and helped me to be better able to recognize grief and the forms it takes in my life which has been very helpful.1-on-1 SupportParticipant in Anchorage , ALaska01/08/2019
I have had a wonderful experience working with the Grief Recovery Method. My one-on-one facilitator (Sara Felushko) was excellent, and very professional. I have seen positive results in my life after completing the grief recovery method that I am very grateful for. I have already recommended the method to friends, and will continue to do so.1-on-1 Online SupportParticipant in ANCHORAGE, AK06/13/2018
I went into the Grief Recovery Method prepared to work through the recent loss of my brother. Through the process I have realized how many different losses I have experienced in my life and I am slowing making my way through the past and letting go in order to find a fulfilled future. It is a journey I feel I am only just beginning but it is one that has given me hope and helped me to pass that knowledge on to others I know who are also suffering.1-on-1 SupportParticipant in Arlington, MA05/16/2018
