I don’t have words for the sense of relief that I feel after completing this process. Bringing the relationship to completion has released me from something that would have gnawed away at me over time. I feel I’ve moved from grief to mourning and I now understand the difference. I feel that the program really helped me understand my grief and help me accept it as a natural process when we have a deal with the death of a much loved partner. It gave me a better understanding that we have not been taught how to deal with death and what to say to people when they are grieving. I still have a difficult time in trying to say the right thing to someone but, having gone through this much more aware.
