Hi - I'm Katie and I found the Grief Recovery Method when I moved to Murray, KY and began working for Murray-Calloway County Hospital-Anna Mae Owen Residential Hospice House. I have worked as a hospice social worker beginning in March 2021, providing care and bereavement services to our patients, families and community. Previous to my move to Western KY, I worked in my community as a social worker for over 6 years, providing services to individuals experiencing homelessness, addiction and disease. Working in hospice allowed me the opportunity to work with individuals and families experiencing loss and grief, although grief was not a new term for me. I became a Grief Recovery Method Specialist in May 2022 and offer 1on 1 Support and Group Support. Since completing the GRM class and obtaining my certification, what I appreciate most is the action-step approach GRM uses in completing a relationship due to significant loss. We will all experience loss and grief throughout our life and I am here to let you know that you do not have to do it alone.
